Bosch Dishwasher E24 and E25 Error Codes
Both codes mean a Bosch dishwasher isn't draining properly, but they point to different spots. E24 is usually a blocked filter, a blocked drain hose or a new garbage disposal with its plug still in. What E24 means
Bosch says E24 means the dishwasher isn't draining properly because the drain path is blocked. You may see water sitting in the bottom after a cycle, the dishwasher stopping mid-cycle, or gurgling and humming. Bosch lists three likely causes:
- A blocked drain hose.
- A filter that needs cleaning.
- A brand-new garbage disposal where the installer didn't remove the knockout plug from the dishwasher inlet.
What E25 means

- Clean the filter. Lift out the filter at the bottom of the tub (your manual shows how it twists out), rinse it under the tap and scrub off grease and food, then lock it back in place.
- Check the drain hose. Under the sink, make sure the hose isn't kinked or crushed, and that its connection to the sink drain (the siphon connection) is sealed.
- New disposal? If the dishwasher drains into a garbage disposal that was just installed, the knockout plug inside the disposal's dishwasher inlet may still be in place. Bosch says it must be removed; your plumber or disposal installer can do this.
- Check the pump cover (E24 and E25). With the filter out, find the small pump cover underneath. Bosch says to make sure it isn't loose.
- Clear the pump (E25). Bosch's steps: pry the pump cover up with a spoon until it clicks, pull it up until you feel resistance, then pull it forward to remove it. Sponge out the water, carefully remove any debris, and snap the cover back on firmly.
- Reset. Bosch says to reset the dishwasher and code as described in your owner's manual, then run a short cycle.

If the filter, hose and pump are clear and the code comes back, or the dishwasher hums without draining, the drain pump or its wiring may need repair. That needs a technician. Also call if you can't get the pump cover off or back on securely; a loose cover can bring the code right back.
